I’m honored to invite you inside my showroom to reveal how designers, colleagues and community activists came together for fellowship and a common purpose: to learn from those who are dedicated to improving the living and working conditions for the people of Afghanistan.

In the video below, Connie Duckworth, the Founder of Arzu Studio Hope, explains how her non-profit organization is helping Afghan women weavers break the cycle of poverty by providing steady income and access to education and healthcare.  You’ll also hear from Roz Rustigian, who talked about the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women, and Qais Akbar Omar, author of “A Fort Of Nine Towers“, a memoir describing life in Kabul between the Soviet Army’s exit and the Taliban’s retreat, and his family’s attempts to flee Afghanistan.

It was a privilege to host such a gathering… and to share it with you.
