Broadloom carpet is versatile with many choices in material, colors, patterns, pile height and more. Since it ships from the manufacturer to my showroom in very wide and continuous rolls it can be cut and shaped then installed without seams to meet your needs. It can be further customized with attractive borders. Compared to many floor coverings, broadloom carpet costs less yet can be stylish and original.
Until about 80 years ago broadloom carpet was made from the natural materials wool and cotton. Now it is made from wool, grasses, cotton, silk, sisal and also synthetic materials such as polyester, plastics, nylon and others. The materials and process is evolving into eco friendly carpeting that has a lower carbon footprint, uses less energy to make, and has fewer emissions in the manufacturing process. For example our popular SmartStrand carpet is partially derived from corn.
In my showroom most of the carpet we sell is wool broadloom that is cut and shaped into area rugs. Please stop in to view samples. We have the widest selection of components in our South Carolina area to make your broadloom area rug unique with decorative borders.
Many customers find the carpeting fits their casual lifestyle and transitional furnishings. Also, it has a lower price point than hand-woven and hand-tufted rugs.
